Today was a
day for scenery. So mainly photos. We
had superb sunny weather the whole day (our driver telling us it’s the best he’s
seen in the area in his travels). We drove to Killorglin on Dingle Bay and then
around the island’s southern tip of 161 kms.
The road was
narrow and winding and is spectacular in its views. It is known as the Ring of
Kerry. The idea was to stop numerous times for photo opportunities, and at a café overlooking the bay for lunch.

When I downloaded
my photos they really do not show just how spectacular the drive was.
Sheep in
Ireland are for the most part black faced and finally today I managed to
get a relative close up of them! They dot the landscape. Cows are also common
and they munch on the greenest of grass. We had booked for an optional tour tonight and had a lovely dinner at a local hotel and then a visit to Siamsa Tire (National Folk Theatre of Ireland). We saw a performance of Oilean….the story of the Blasket Islands. It was in Gaelic, a very moving performance. I was so tired though that by the time we returned to the hotel I just went straight to bed!!
