Waking up
this morning I opened the window to beautiful sunshine which was a relief as we
were going to be out and about today. BUT…what we actually experienced during
the day was a typical day in Ireland……sun, showers, more sun, overcast…..around
and around the day went! However we were so lucky because it was fine for the
most part every time we were outdoors! It was one
day I will never forget. I took so many photos it will be hard to choose just a
few… and the photos certainly don’t do the area justice!
We first took a ride in a jaunting car and the jarvey (driver- a twenty year old boy who had obviously kissed the Blarney stone several times) took us out to Ross Castle in Killarney National Park.

Next we got into small boats and cruised The Lakes of Killarney …... peaceful and stunning. Luckily it was fine for this part of the journey.
At the end of the cruising we reached Muckross House and gardens where we had a guided tour. The house has been restored (but unfortunately no photos inside)
After lunch
we wandered the garden and then back to the hotel. We had a quick look at the
town shops inn Killarney and then returned for a rest.
