SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH - EDINBURGH

"Morning sightseeing with a local guide introducing you to the 200- year- old "New Town" as well as the "Old Town". drive up the narrow Royal Mile to visit Edinburgh Castle then explore Holroyd Palace (except when the queen is in residence). Free afternoon."

Today we spent the day in Edinburgh. Sun shone all day and the city was teaming with people looking great. What a vibrant city! We went for the morning in the bus through the “old” and “new” town. As it was Sunday morning, traffic was sparse so we had a good look around.

Next we went to Holroyd Palace – again the grounds were beautiful and the old abbey especially beautiful.

Up the hill to Edinburgh Castle where we left the guided tour and just explored on or own. So many photos today and such great views of the castle.

Later we walked back to the hotel – browsing shops, watching buskers and stopping for fish and chips at a pub (where we dined with two ladies from the tour). Got back to the hotel about 4—time to re organise my suitcase I’m afraid!
