We slept (yeah on a bed!) for over 12 hours and were full of energy (well almost) to go by 9 a.m. Wanting to orientate ourselves today (just basically exploring) we had a light breakfast at a café on the waterfront (our first croissants). Walking first to the main railway station of Nice was pleasant. Lots of buildings to see today, very old and obviously mainly apartments. There are so many dogs here that live in apartments ...but unfortunately there seems to be no law about cleaning up after your dog.......
Area outlined where we walked
A welcome tea/coffee break at a Maccas allowed us to contact home through messenger...great to see and hear everyone!
Sim card purchased at shopping mall:
This one is for you Jen!
Then a pleasant walk down to the "old town".
Old town streets full of market stalls and cafes.
a French Mezze plate........lucky we only ordered a serving for ONE to share...onion tart to die for!!!
Beach on left of fence free...(note stones)...beach on right with chairs and umbrellas $16 euro a day !!!
We both rested and then Henry went for a swim. Out to the supermarket in the evening and kranskys and ice cream (and of course cheese and baguette for dinner)
