FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER - PARIS

Having prepaid and skip the line tickets for the Louvre we set out, negotiated the Metro (even changing trains). The Metro system is super-efficient and a lady working there a great help to us.

So far with the exception of a couple of taxi drivers people are very friendly and go out of their way to help.As we were early we had coffee before picking up our tickets. Small cups…huge prices…but pleasant to sit.

Henry was so happy to be going to The Louvre and when we arrived it was even more spectacular than he had hoped.

It is a magnificent building in itself.

This is part of the original Louvre
We visited the Egyptian artefacts.

Next the Greek exhibition!

The "real' one...Guess who?
Followed by a quick trip to the Roman Empire.
Henry kept asking “who did the nose?”

Even Romans had “bad hair days”

Finally the Italian Paintings and the Mona Lisa. Although I thought it was beautiful many of the other works are to my eye just as wonderful.

I thought this was magnificent!
By the end of three hours I was “all louvered out” and forced to go to a cafĂ© where we had coke and pizza. After paying the bill Henry went to sell his right kidney!!!!
We intended going back to the studio but instead negotiated the Metro and went to visit “Arc de Triomphe”. Again one of the places Henry was determined to visit this trip. It is impressive. Amazing views from the top.

Most people go the stairs but I fitted one of these categories above…so we saved the walk and caught a lift to the top.

Pointing to where we are staying

Walked back to the studio where a cup of Nescafe and a rest never felt so good.
We awoke at 8pm. I suggested a bowl of cereal for dinner. But it was a walk and snails(I thought I'd ordered mussels???) and onion soup for dinner. Yummy. To bed and a big day tomorrow awaits I'm sure!

This is the entrance to our studio.
Our studio is at the back 4th window along on floor minus 1 ...lol!
